Sporty-Automatic “Open Engine Sports” Watches From Orient

In November 2009, Orient Watch Co., Ltd. will add a new “Open Engine Sports” design to its Sporty Automatic series.

“Open Engine Sports” from the Sporty Automatic series is targeted mainly at men in their 20s and 30s. The open dial timepiece offers a new concept in sporty watches, adding another point of contact to this demographic and inviting them to visually enjoy the movement of a mechanical watch. The new model is a fusion of elegance and utility, delivering at-a-glance visibility with an uncluttered dial design.

With a small window in the watch face that reveals the precise motion of the balance with hairspring, the heart of the mechanical movement, this timepiece is designed to enhance the delight of mechanical watch ownership. The movement is also visible through a window in the case back. The watch case is streamlined and tough enough for the most active user, with a distinctive crown guard design that not only creates a sporty look, but provides full protection for the crown and movement.
