Wenger Commando WPER Timepiece

Wenger, the maker of the genuine Swiss Army knife and precision outdoor equipment, has agreed to a three-year title sponsorship of the Patagonian Expedition Race – the adventure at the end of the world.

Wenger supplies Swiss Army knives and Swiss watches along with footwear, tents and other camping equipment to the Wenger Patagonian Expedition Race. This new association will run through 2011 and is the first title sponsorship of the annual adventure race, which has grown in popularity and awareness since its inception in 2004.

The Wenger Patagonian Expedition Race (WPER) is an annual, action-filled adventure race, in the southern-most region of the world. Top-ranked international teams compete in the most rugged, geographic and climatically diversified terrain ever known to expedition racing. Each edition presents a different route through a geographically unique and spectacular area between southern latitudes 49º and 56º.

The Commando WPER watch, is a tribute to the Wenger Patagonian Expedition Race. This generously equipped, 42mm quartz timepiece offers chronograph functions measuring 60 seconds, 30 minutes and 12 hours, add and split time, tachymeter, analogical time display and date.

This is an essential multi-functional timekeeping tool, which delivers precise information such as, local time, date, elapsed race time and thanks to its tachymeter, vehicle velocity. This data is acquired in one quick glance, due to the extra large 38.5 dial opening and the thick white Superluminova covered markers, numbers and hands for enhanced visibility in the dark. The black PVD coating on the 316L stainless steel case, pushers and crown, provide the antireflective, concealment feature required in the wilderness.

In order to provide maximum wrist comfort, durability and uncompromised resistance to all weather conditions and terrains the watch is fitted with a solid, supple black rubber strap.

The Wenger Commando WPER is declined in black & white dial execution. This timepiece bears the official Wenger Patagonian Expedition Race logo on its case back.
