Luminox Releases Essential Gear Timepieces For Sea, Air And Land

Always answering the call of the demanding professionals using the brand as Essential Gear, Luminox unveils the Sea, Air and Land - Series of timepieces. All watches in this new series are durable, legible and specially designed for real world use.

Luminox supplies professionals around the world – military, law enforcement, SWAT teams, Navy SEALs, fighter pilots, border patrols and more – so the brand has split this new offering into the different domains in which these users operate: Sea, Air and Land. All models in this 3050 series are crafted of a 44mm carbon reinforced polymer. Each model is fitted with a highly scratch resistant, specially hardened and tempered mineral crystal, and is water resistant to 200 meters. And, of course, each is Always Visible, employing the proprietary Luminox Light Technology (LLT), a self-illuminating system that glows continuously, 24/7/365 for up to 25 years.

The Sea model features a sunray blue dial and uses blue LLT tubes, because blue remains visible deeper under the water than any other color. A scuba flag above the 6 on the dial indicates the watch is meant for diving, as does the nylon Velcro fast-strap that attaches easily and dries quickly.

Going to the other extreme, the Air Watch is a Search And Rescue (SAR): the dial is bright orange and all of the LLT tubes are blue and orange, just like the alarm lights on rescue helicopters. The SAR initials are placed above the number 6 on the dial in blue.

There are two Land models in this series – both utilizing earth tones. One version has a black dial and the other is olive gray for rugged field appeal. These models use blue tubes for the LLT and the 12:00 illumination is colored orange so you can find the top of the dial easily in the dark. The turning bezel comes with an ice-blue LLT, for better readability. The same is true for the LLT on the hands.
